In-person Class Enrollment Cancellation Policy: Registration tuition is non-refundable after three (3) calendar days of registering for any in-person course. A cancellation request within three (3) days must be submitted to The Nautical School visa email to: Documents@nauticalschool.com. (Please include your registration number). If cancellation is requested after three (3) days of registration, a credit shall be issued to the student in the amount paid for a period of three (3) years good for any course offered by The Nautical School. After three (3) days, a refund may only be processed if scheduled course is canceled by The Nautical School. There are no exceptions.
Inclement Weather: We make every effort to hold classes regardless of weather. However, in the very rare event that an entire in-person class must be cancelled due to severe inclement weather, you will be issued a credit to enroll in another Nautical School class of your choice. If weather cancellation only effects one session of any multi-day course, an alternate time will be scheduled to makeup any missed instruction. In the event of a weather related cancellation, we will contact you as early as possible using the information provided in your registration. The Nautical School does not accept responsibility for travel and lodging expenses incurred.
Online Course(s) Refund Policy: There are no refunds for online courses. No exceptions.
Fees: The OUPV (6-pack) course tuition includes our comprehensive USCG-approved, 240-page color textbook, three full size nautical training charts, PDF downloads of 3 current Coast Pilot books, Chart 1, and the USCG Light List publication. A 4-part USCG-approved examination will be administered by the Nautical School after completing of your 60 hour classroom instruction on Charting & Plotting, Nautical Rules of the Road, Deck General & Navigation General.
There is NO CHARGE for the examination and no testing with the Coast Guard. TNS is a professional school with professional USCG-approved instructors.
OUR GUARANTEE: We guarantee that every student WILL PASS THE COURSE. In order to stand by that guarantee we allow any students wishing to re-take the course, or any portion to do so at no extra charge, based on classroom availability within one year of registration.
One-on-one and tutoring to small groups of 2 to 6 persons is also available if needed for a nominal fee.
